Windows 7 as a Server

If Windows 7 is the main (or server) computer in which Frazer is located, some settings must be adjusted to successfully share the Frazer30 folder from the Local Disk (C:) drive.  

 


 

Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of the computer screen.  Click on Control Panel.

Click on Network and Sharing Center.

Make sure that type of Network is set for Work.  If it is set for Public, other computers will not be able to connect to this computer.

To change the setting to Work, click on the words Public network and select Work network.

Click Close.

Next, within the Network and Sharing Center, click on Advanced Sharing Settings.

Turn on Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing.  Turn off Password Protected Sharing.

Click on Start menu.  Click on Computer.

Double left-click on Local Disk (C:).

Right-click on the Frazer30Folder folder and click on Properties.

Click on the Sharing tab. Click on Share.

Type Everyone and click on Add.  Under Permission Level, choose the drop-down option for Read/Write. Click on Share.

Click on Done.

Click on the Security tab. Verify that the user Everyone has Full Control allowed. Then click on Close.

After the Frazer30 folder is shared, Add a Frazer Client to the secondary workstation computers.
