Convenience fees ARE available to help dealers off-set some of the processing costs associated with taking electronic payments. You can set up convenience fees by navigating to Customers > 7 - Electronic Payments > Set up or learn more. Once there look for the "Convenience Fee Setup" button.

 

 

Clicking the button will bring up the convenience fee options as well as a disclaimer about convenience fees.

 

 

The legality of convenience fees (and when they are appropriate) can be a pretty tricky thing to pin down. For more information about the legality and types of transactions where convenience fees are legal, Frazer recommends consulting with your local attorney.
 
When taking a payment, you may indicate that the customer has agreed to accept the fee right from the payment window.

 

 

Additionally, a customer making a payment via PayMyCar will see the fee listed as part of their payment breakdown with a disclosure explaining the fee.

 

 

Please take note that convenience fees are only available for payments where the customer is not present at the dealership.
